Scope:
A mariner who successfully completes this 1 day course will satisfy the training requirements of 46 CFR 12.625(a)(1) and STCW Table A-VI/6-2 for an STCW endorsement as Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties.
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will have a good awareness of maritime security and be more aware of issues involving security when alongside the dock, at anchor, and at sea. It will equip all seafarers with minimum standard competence in security awareness as outlined in the ISPS Code, the STCW Convention and IMO Model Course 3.26.
